June 2013: World class data centre company, and long standing partners of global carrier IX Reach, Equinix have announced the completion and opening of the first stage of their newest Zurich data centre, ZH5, which is ready to handle demand from cloud, content and enterprise networks – and IX Reach took this opportunity to be the first to congratulate Equinix on their newest Swiss venture.

Equinix’s brand new, state of the art ZH5 data centre is already one of the 75+ on net locations for IX Reach, enabling seamless and far-reaching connectivity to the rest of Europe, across the Atlantic to the US and into the Middle East over its reliable and robust MPLS network.
The ZH5 data centre enjoys a dark fibre connection to the Equinix Zurich campus and is able to join to the other data centres – ZH1, ZH2 and ZH4.
“We’re pleased to be able to grow our Swiss hub of data centres with Equinix’s ZH5 facility; Zurich is a very important European, and Global marketplace and is an important core location in IX Reach’s network. Our customers will be able to access all IX Reach services, including our signature remote peering product and low latency routes around Europe” commented Steve Wilcox, Founder and Director of IX Reach.
This new data centre addition enables ZH5 tenants to gain access to extensive Metro circuits within Zurich and other cities, and connectivity to major Internet Exchanges such as AMS-IX (Amsterdam), LINX (London), LU-CIX (Luxembourg), Swissix (Switzerland) and the latest addition to IX Reach’s portfolio of IX partners, UAE-IX (Dubai).
